Wow! A game took place between the Poem Farm and Radio, Rhythm & Rhyme. If you visited on Monday, you saw my poem, If I were my dog for just one day.
Well, guess what?
Matt Forrest, over at Radio, Rhythm & Rhyme, has written a great answer poem, "If I Were a Cat."

It was such a wonderful surprise to find this poem from him, an unexpected game of poem-to-poem. And then, on Friday, I visited Mrs. Ferrara's third grade students at Klem North Elementary School in Webster, NY. They, too, had written "If I were a cat" poems. (Maybe we will be lucky enough that one or two of them will share here.)
I wonder who will write the next "If I Were..." poem?
This week, I welcome illustrator Nina Crittenden to my other blog, Sharing Our Notebooks. Nina shares some neat notebook pages along with her inspiring words, and you will have a chance to be entered into her generous drawing of a book and pocket notebook.

Fun to hear Matt's answer to you Amy. I imagine this will start whole groups of people wondering "If I Were" animal poems. It's an interesting exercise to think about people too? What about "if I were a baker, etc."
ReplyDeleteThanks to you both.
